[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Don’t get me wrong, kids know they are different from one another. They really do but they also know that their differences do not matter. That’s the purpose of today’s post. That everyone is different. Each and every one of us, and that it is absolutely fine that we are all different. It is those differences that make us who we are, that make us stronger. It is our differences that is also our beauty. The sooner we stop trying to convince everyone that we are all the same, the better. As you will often hear a kid say, “be unique, be a unicorn!”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
In what ways do you keep diversity alive in your home? This is a great article on promoting diversity in the world of animation. Chris Nee, creator of Doc McStuffins makes some great points and is one of the pioneers in this media. “It makes you feel like you don’t matter if you don’t see yourself on TV,” she said. “Also, it’s the classic thing that you can’t be it if you don’t see it. We have to provide images to kids that will allow them to dream that they can be anything. What Doc has shown to me is what we really can do when we make the right choices”.
